Time to Leave

I would leave you in a second
but I have no place
to go
everyone I know is
busy, too busy
for the likes of me
I would tell you how
I really feel
but I have nothing to say
that would not sound
overly dramatic
overstated
underwhelming
I could end this now
but I am too old
for beginnings
getting to know
someone new
at this point
would be like
relocating
and I like my hometown
I know my way around
cashiers and tellers
know my face
and I know theirs
is slowly changing
gray hair and gravity
and so I promise
I will never leave you
I will always be here
with you
loneliness
